Ancora Imparo – Always Learning

Updated: Apr 19, 2021

A short year ago, armed with a metaphor and due passion, this blog came to be. Release the unicorns!

This blog began with the hope that a few non-blood relatives would read it and that its contents would be beneficial to young HR professionals and fellow Learning and Development enthusiasts. Personally, this blog was an avenue to continue partaking in one of my favorite facets of academia, namely enabling curiosity and passion to manifest itself through articulating positions on timely topics.

Here we are a year later and to my extraordinary surprise, these unicorns have set “hoof” on five continents, thirteen countries and twenty-five states. Wow!

A few key articles which made this possible:

And Yet…

Ancora imparo, which is Italian for “yet I am learning” or more simply, “always learning,” summarizes my stance from a year ago and today. Someone who loves what they do and for whom they do it should always assume a learning disposition. Continuous improvement and insight gathering is the greatest adventure. On this journey, one can also contribute, add a voice and send down the proverbial elevator.

As I learned long ago, great writers are readers. To this I would add, they are also listeners, practitioners and conversationalists. Sharing is powerful and teaches all involved invaluable lessons. I am the grateful student of many and am most happy to share what I can.

Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too

On this learning journey, I have also discovered, you can have your cake and eat it, too. With every sprinkle thoughtfully placed, we can serve and share. During this process, we can also be mutually fed. With a solid sweet tooth comes the hunger for more.

With Thanks

Today’s Unicorn Talent would not be what it is without each of you. Thank you for supporting this creative endeavor, spurring me on and chuckling at every silly pun along the way. I hope you have found nuggets of it helpful and practical to your professional life.

In the comments below, please share any topics that you would like to see covered and related suggestions or feedback.

To the Point

Happy first anniversary, Today’s Unicorn Talent! Here’s to many more adventures and learning to come.

Ride on! Write on!
